MS&G partners Mimi Marziani and Joaquin Gonzalez were quoted in Democracy Docket on the risks if Attorney General Ken Paxton challenges the result of his U.S. Senate race. Marziani said this year’s competitive Texas statewide races are “a recipe for chaos and attempted extreme tactics” by Paxton, but added that “people should take comfort in the fact that there are systems in place” to ensure free and fair elections. Gonzalez said that if the race is “super close” on election night, the AG could try to stop “further counting of mail ballots” or change “the way that provisional ballots are cured or counted.”
